History
Dave Evans 1965 Impala Super Sport
This car underwent a full restoration by Dave, with the bodywork and paint being done by Auto Services in Colne, Lancashire. The car went on to have a front page and centre pull out picture in Classic American Magazine. This was driven to the strip and raced in full street trim, turning mid 15’s from a stock (warmed) 327cu motor. This car was sold to make way for an engine Coco Connection.
Dave Evans Coco Connection, 1970 Chevrolet Impala SS
Again another full restoration amassing to over 2000 hours to bring the car back up its former glory. Early engine problems meant that virtually the entire engine and drive train were thrown in the bin and started again from scratch. Jeff Bull rebuilt the engine to 8013cc (489cu) with a methanol conversion. Andy Frost rebuilt the TH400 with race internals. Jeff Bull also rebuilt the third member. This car was a proven 9.90 car in the old days of Chris Spencer but since then vertually every part of the car was replaced by Dave. He honed his skills and cut his teeth driving this car, eventually pushing Coco to 9.2 second quarter miles. Coco was sold to make way for the Doomsday Impala.
Andy Bennett 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z28
A full stripped restoration, including new panels, new paint. Driven to the strip a couple of times to turn mid 15’s. Probably one of the nicest second generation Camaro’s in the country at the time. Sold after becoming an avid convert to the full size styling.
